Q&A 19 April 2011
What is a Powerhead or Wavemaker?
Well, Basically its a pump that sits inside your tank and circulates the water in your tank,
There are many types of Pumps in the market, all claiming to be unique in its own way and promising great results.
A rule of thumb would be to but a pump/pwerhead/wave maker that has a broader gentle flow.
How will i know when i have enough flow in tank ?
40x - 70X the tank volume is considered to be the most common amount of flow for any tank, but i believe that each tank is unique and doesnt have a set amount of flow,
Find the sweet spot by playing with your pump placement and try to create random flow, your corals will return the favour.
What size return pump do i need for my tank?
Your return pump should be 2x - 3x your tank volume
